What is the backward area in rounders?
A backward hit in rounders is when the batter hits the ball backwards and it goes behind the batting section. The batter can take the first post when this happens but can not go further until the ball is back in play.

the backstops job/ role in rounders is to guide the bowlers throw to the batter by cupping there hands in the appropriate ending space for the ball and allowing this to be a target for the bowler. also, if a batter misses the ball and it was an acceptable throw(not a foul ball) then the backstop must receive the ball and throw it to the appropriate post to help get the batter out. if the batter hits the ball backwards, it is also within the role of the backstop to receive this ball and walk to the back-line (as the batter by this time shall be waiting at first ready to run on when play is continued) and accurately throw the ball either to the bowler who if receives the ball will prevent runners running on to other posts, or the backstop will pass to the fielder on second base who will stump out the batter if they had decided to run on. i think i covered everything, well, hope this helps you. Play as normal teams, but once the batting team have hit the ball, the fielding team have to throw the ball to first base, who throws to second, then to third and finally to fourth. The batting team receive a rounder if they run around quicker than the fielders can throw the ball around.

Rounders is a game which involves two teams, a bat, a ball and 'bases' The four bases are set out in a square shape. One team stands behind the first base, these are known as 'batters' Each person takes a shot at hitting the ball and running to base. depending on the distance you hit the ball, depends how far you can run. far away hit = home run the second team are 'catchers'. Their aim is to catch the ball, pass it to the person nearest the base a batter is running to, if the person with the ball in their hand touches the base before the batter, the batter is out. You are allowed to lose 3 players before the batters and catchers swap places.
