You can either find a bolt with the correct threading, or buy another one online or from a pro-shop. Otherwise, the Co2 usually stopped by the adjuster will shoot out of the side, lowering the velocity to around 200. It is safe to play with one, but you will be annoyed by the air out of the side and the low velocity.

There are actually one in the same. There was never an orginial "model 98" only the custom series. The difference though would be found in the Tippmann 98 custom Platinum series with its easy to remove body.
