If you are pre-pointe do you have to get special shoes?

Some times you do, but sometimes you dont

You love everything about ballet but you have been having a lot of problems with your pointe shoes and you dont know if you should still take ballet?

Its simple i went on pointe when i was eleven so i was very young. My pointe shoes did put me through a lot of trouble and pain. But they did hurt the normal amount. You can get various things like ouch pouches, even methylated spirits helped. Or it can be as simple as getting your shoes fitted specifically to your feet. Don't let your shoes ruin the fun and carry on dancing! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Which pointe shoes would be best for someone with a high instep and when they also need a really soft shoe?

How do you break in ballet shoes?

Massage them everyday, this may sound weird but it is a great technique. Step on the toe part of the shoe, not too hard or you may break them. Also keep bending them back and forth. Have fun pointe-ting !

Are pointe shoes uncomfortable?

All pointe shoes hurt, for some poeple, there first pair hurts the least for others it hurts the most. But when you first get pointe shoes you dont do much dancing on them, so it wont hurt as much. but it probably hurts more than you would expect.

How do you strap a broken toe?

You dont strap a broken toe. You leave it. This is because it is hard to strap to another toe

This will be my 6th year of dance and im 11. my teachers are talking to me about prepointe but dont know if im done growing so i dont stunt my growth. how many years of pre pointe do you normallytake?

I did not take any prepointe. At my ballet school people take it for about 1 year, they only put you on pointe if you are ready at my school. Pre pointe does not stun your growth.

Can you do ballet at any age?

You can start ballet at any age but if you expect to dance en pointe you wont. I started ballet at age 2 and i got my shoes when i was 12 it takes 8 years minimum to get pointe shoes but most school dont let girls start intill there 12 or older. It might be hard to get into a begginers class because most girls are already on pointe you might get into a class with 11 year olds or younger. I recomend doing a diffrent type of dance like jazz or lyrical because they dont need as much trainingListen, I knew a girl that started ballet at 7 years old (and that's pretty late) but she is one of the best dancers ever!! (I mean, she's not exactly as famous as like, Baryshnikov, but she is still really good! (:

How do you break in climbing shoes?

Try small, low grade routes,or easy bouldering problems etc wearing your new climbing shoes. Dont try any overadventurous moves, dynos etc. Continue to do this for as many sessions as you feel you need before your climbing shoes are broken in, or as is more often the case, you have become used to your new climbing shoes.

Do you wear shoes to gymnastics then take them off?

No gymnasts do not wear shoes because they are too heavy and they weigh us down. Gymnasts may wear beam "shoes" which resemble small ballet slippers (not the pointe ones) to help keep them from slipping on the beam.
