Yes I believe they were. They had the leagues' top offense despite losing their entire backfield and beat Georgia and Alabama which was in the top 10 at the time handily. Though lost the tiebreaker to LSU by virtue of their 20-17 win on Oct 22 in OT. LSU went to the championship game and were blown out by Georgia a team Auburnhad beaten just three weeks before. That alone is proof Auburn was the best football team in the SEC in 05.
probably auburn vs alabama 2005 auburn had 11 sacks in that game war eagle.
Yes. They are in the SEC conference. They aren't very good because LSU, Alabama, and Florida are also in the same conference as Auburn.
As of 2015, Auburn and University of Florida have won 3 each.
USC under Pete Carroll is undefeated against the SEC. The scores of their recent games are listed below. The Auburn Tigers were the last SEC team to go undefeated. They went 11-0 in the reg season on their way to defeating Tennessee in the SEC championship game, then Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. Auburn was snubbed by the BCS and passed over to play in the National Title game in favor of USC and Oklahoma who both also had undefeated regular season.
