Just to be clear the runner that got hit is out. As for the batter, it would be scorers discretion. If the scorekeeper believes he would have made it on base anyways ( perhaps the ball was hit to the gap or he was within feet of the base by the time the player would have gotten to the ball) then it could be scored as an infield hit
it would be ruled a hit
No it is a dead ball
Anytime the batter is put out at 1st base on a batted ball it is not considered a fielders choice, it is simply a put out. Now in your scenario if the catcher would have thrown home and the runner coming from 3rd is out and the batter is safe at 1st, then in that case it would be a fielders choice
The batter is out unless a fielder touched the ball
advancing runner struck by the batted ball is out.
it doesn't matter because they on the same team so it don't matter.
There would be no advantage to a fielder kicking a batted ball. If a ball is in fair territory when touched by a fielder, it will remain a fair ball until play is stopped. If a ball is in play when touched by a fielder in any way, it remains in play.
no way rbi is runs batted in and batting average is your percentage of getting a hit
A batted ball that hits a fielder is in play, regardless of whether or not it later hit a baserunner. If a batted ball hits a baserunner before touching a fielder, the runner is out, the batter is awarded a hit, and all other runners return to their previous base unless forced to advance.
yasir hameed of Pakistan batted 45 times in his career without getting a duck of players currently playing, ross Taylor of new zealand has batted 40 times without being dismissed for 0
No, a wild pitch is a wild pitch -- it is considered a mistake charged to the pitcher. An "error" in baseball is a fielding mistake. A pitcher can make an "error" but only on a batted or thrown ball.
An RBI works like this, if a batter hit the ball, no matter in what situation ( besides getting out with 2 outs) and if they get out or not but they get a run in, it is an RBI. An RBI stands for runs batted in.
