Figure skating became a sport because it takes hard work to fulfill the dream of becoming a national, world wise champion. Since and ice skate has a blade, there are tons of injuries possible when you are doing a specific move on the ice. It is way harder than any sport around (except gymnastics, there the same in alot of ways). It takes a ton of courage, the love for the sport, and a to of effort to become an Olympic gold medalist.
