Do the same jump in a way sitting on the ground.
Cheerleading has 5 parts, Cheer, jumps, dance, stunts, and tumbling. All star cheer does not have a cheer.

Typically there would be a few learning days leading up to the try-out where the coaches will teach jumps and so at your try-out you will know what to do, The better your jumps, the higher they score you and the more likely you are to make the team. Of course, there are other factors that go into making the team: tumbling, stunting, and motions. Good luck!
In my opinion, yes cheer is better than gymanstics. You can make friends easier because unlike gymnastics it is more of a team sport. Everyone has to work together to either hit a stunt or complete a dance routine. Gymnastics is a necesity for cheer. You are more likely to make a cheer team if you can tumble. Cheerleading in my opinion definitly is more fun than gymastics.
No, a cheer squad would not make their cheer players cheer with anything inside them. Rumors like this are started by younger children.
You cheer by having team spirit and not letting anything get in your way. You also always try your hardest. Heart Dedication Determination smiling alot and having high jumps helps too ;)
practice your splits. especially straddle, for toe touch.
A toe touch is by far the best jump. Most importmant thing.....point your toes!!
Practice your facials, practice the cheer (rythm, timing, loudness), practice the routine, practice your jumps
depends on how you look at it. for school not as much because you do your half time and cheer side lines. in my opion competitve cheer is much more of a work out simply because the things you do in this kind of cheer is much harder. the stunts, jumps, tumbling that you throw will push you harder than cheer for you school. but yes cheering is an activiy
competitive cheerleading means you go against other teams and you compete to win! you also have to have these components in cheerleading: opening, stunts, jumps, cheer (of course!), pyramid, dance, tumbling/gymnastics and the ending.
If you are trying out for cheerleading, there will probably be a clinic where they teach you a cheer and a dance. When the clinic is over they will ask you to show the judges your flexibility, standing tumbling, running tumbling, jumps, stunting, and perform your cheer and dance.
