Typically there would be a few learning days leading up to the try-out where the coaches will teach jumps and so at your try-out you will know what to do, The better your jumps, the higher they score you and the more likely you are to make the team. Well, you have to try out for a team of course, and make it, but if your a TRUE cheerleader like i am, you will know your one because your constantly doing cheer and you never stop talking or doing cheer. I always get in trouble for doing roundoff backhand springs in gym class!!

From me being a Cheerleader myself you do not have to know how to do a Kart Wheel to be on a squad or to do Cheerleading. Some people only cheer instead of doing all of the flips. Actually I dont think you even really use a Kart Wheel in Cheerleading I never have. So if you are trying out for a squad and you cant do a Kart Wheel dont stress out most likely they wont even ask you if you can do one or not!

It would most defenitly help to know them, and i would say to be on a school cheerleading squad you probably would but for a Allstar squad you probably wouldn't but it would help. Most Allstar teams accept anyone who wants to cheer

We are still researching. All I know is that cheerleading was not created by a female, but a male. The male called his squad yell-leaders. The reason he called his squad that is because they had a mega-phone and they would yell out quotes. This was then in the 1930s when yell-leaders were created by a male. Yell-leaders did not do any back-flips, or the splits. They yelled. Duhh. So cheerleaders are very, very, verry different. This is all I got. I hope you learned a lot about yell-leaders.
