It is pretty much a shirt and pants. The pants may have elastic, or they traditional draw string that has to be pulled tight and tied. The top has got a double front, tie the right side at the left hip first and the left side is on the outside. The bottom hangs loose and is not tucked in. The obi is tied around the waste.
Gi
A Judo Gi. The Gi in Japanese is translated into uniform. There are different types of uniforms. White and Blue, competition one and non-competition. Normally you will wear your non-competition uniform in your Dojo (the hall where you train with your instructors) And you'll wear your thick and heavy Gi to competitions. Also, it's very useful to own both white and blue uniforms. Because at competition you may be asked to switch colours. I personally use my blue Gi for competitions and my white Gi when I'm training. Hope this helps :)
yes he does
it's a matter of choice. personally, i like to wear a shirt underneath my gi, just so the sweat doesnt show as much. but at my dojo, there are some that wear shirts, some that dont.
Judo training uniform is called Judogi or you can just called Gi.
Uniform requirements vary from style to style. In the style I study, the gi is white. It is always white, or a natural fiber color, never black or any other color. Some styles allow instructors to wear black pants with their gi.I always thought that a black belt on a black gi was a waste. I want the black belt to show up!
A standard karate Gi (the white clothes that look like pyjamas)
they wear a gi which is common in guju ryu karate or a white shirt with sweat pants or judo pants
The obi is normally sized based on the gi size. If you wear a size 3 gi, you would want a size 3 obi. I tend to go a bit longer if I can.
Traditional karate-ka wear a white gi. Some styles allow black trousers and even black tops for instructors and/or blackbelts. There are some styles that allow the trim to match the color of the belt. It varies from school to school and by organization.
The uniform varies from style to style and school and school. The uniform is called a gi in Japanese styles. I believe it is a tobuk in Korean styles. Beginners wear a white uniform with a belt from white to brown (in kenpo karate). and Masters wear a black uniform and the belt they have earned. In my style of Okinawa Karate, white is the only color allowed for anyone.
Judokas wear a Judo Gi. It is somewhat like those white outfits you see Karate-kas wearing, or most other martial artests.
