There are many more than 15 karate katas. Each style has their own set of katas and some do not overlap. In my style there are 20: 5 Kihon Kata 5 Pinan Kata 3 Bassai Kata 3 Naihanchi Kata 2 Kusanku Kata Chinto Gojushiho
Wada ryu karate is a form of karate that has influences from all the main styles of karate, but the only differences are in the kata's. for example, the pinan's and unsu are from Wada ryu style.

The Phung Ahn Kata of Tang Soo Do were developed from the Heinan Kata of Shotokan Karate. The Heinan Kata of Shotokan were based on the Pinan Kata of Okinawan Karate. The Pinan Kata were created about 1915 by Anko Itosu, one of the most influential karate-ka in history. He and Gichan Funikoshi (founder of Shotokan) were students of Bushi Matsumora.
