there are lots of ways to jump. to start you off I will teach you the three/waltz jump.
if your coach wants you to, do with crossovers like this:
1) do three back crossovers with no lifting skate
2) hold an inside edge.
3)do the following
1) make sure you know how to do an inside edge and takeoff
2) swing your left leg forward helping you propell into the air
3) tuck it slightly in for the jump for more power
4) swing into the jump, do a half rotation
5) land on a back inside edge

I think that there are a lot of things cool about figure skating. Figure skating is a combination of strength, muscle control, endurance, determination, and dance. In figure skating its fun to jump and get the satisfaction of a clean landing or spinning and feeling the adrenaline rush of speed.

People get points in Figure Skating depending on how difficult the jump, spin, footwork, etc. is. If it is really easy then they won't get any points. Hope that this answers your question.
