Yes, if nobody is running behind them. But if it is a force, you can just touch the base.

∙ 11y agoNo. After ball four is thrown to the batter it is a base on balls. The batter is entitled to first base, and any base runner forced ahead may advance. Even if the runner on first is attempting to steal on the pitch, he is awarded second base and cannot be thrown out. Of course the runner from first is award second base, but is only protected up to the base. If he overruns or overslides the second base because in his steal attempt he was not paying attention, he can be tagged out if he is off the bag.
CS-Caught stealing: times tagged out while attempting to steal a base
No. If the runner doesn't cross the first base/right field line they cannot be considered attempting to go to second base.
Runner attempting a steal from first, or a runner caught returning to second base.
That is a term generally used when a base runner is stealing a base. The catcher will not attempt to make a play on the runner (throw the ball to the base that the runner is attempting to steal). Sometimes, the official scorer will rule this 'defensive indifference' and not award the runner with a stolen base. You might see this in the 9th inning of a game where the team batting is down by several runs and the defensive team is more concerned with getting the batter out than attempting to throw out a base runner attempting to steal since that run will not affect the outcome of the game.
This is not a force play, so the runner would have to be tagged to be Out.
If the runner gets tagged, then he is out. If the base doesn't get stepped on or the runner gets tagged, then he is safe.
The runner can run 3 feet on either side of the base line. The base line is defined as a straight line from the runner to the base at the time the tag is attempted.7.08Any runner is out when --(a) (1) He runs more than three feet away from his baseline to avoid being tagged unless his action is to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. A runner's baseline is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely

the only way for them to get out is if there tagged so yes
No, unless there's is no force play involved. Meaning, you only tag if the runner is not forced to run to next base. But a runner is automatically out once tagged
Any time a runner is not forced to advance to the next base, the defensiver player must tag the runner. If a runner is attempting to steal 2nd, either the 2nd baseman or the shortstop must tag the runner.
