In European leugues the contracts of the higher profile players often contain incentives wich amount to bonuses in their salaries. For instance, a contract of a goalkeeper or defender may state that they receive a bonus if they keep a clean sheet (i.e. concede no goals during a game); whilst midfielders and forwards may receive a bonus for any assists or goals they score.Also, players are usually rewarded financially when they win a cup, league, or promotion.
