I am 13 now but when i was 12 my best mile was 5:01. ill reset that record this spring tho. hope my answer helps.
:D Well I'm 12 and I just ran it in 4:46.10....Can you top that?
Yes, in 1980, while training for the Mission Inn 10k run, I was invited to the Hersheys State championships for 4 events, high jump, long junp, 1 Mile and 800 meter run. The medals were as follows:
1 Mile Run - Gold with a time of 4:18 age 12 years old
High Jump - Silver with hieght of 4'-9" I was only 4'-6" tall, and the winning hieght was 4'-9", becuase I had one more fault from a previous hieght, I did not win Gold.
800 Meter - Silver with a time of 1:50 age 12 years old
To date, I do not know of anyone ever coming close to the mile time I place on that day. I do remember, it was a day I will never forget, and the high Jump event was more memorable for one reason, I had the crowd on there feet for the simple fact that the bar was 3 inches over my head, and I cleared it! I never thought that the 4:18 mile was such a great time until later. I subsequetnly was sponsered by Athletic Express (better known "Foot Locker") and NIKE had me already papered up. One year later, I was diagnosed with Leg Perthese, and had a hip replacement at the age of 14, and 6 additional hip replacement since. Humbling experience to say the least, however, I never let it get me down, and kept positive, stayed active, hence the reason for the majority of my hip replacements (thats a story with in a story), and live life to its fullest. My only wish would have been, my mile would have been recorded in the history records, and frankly guines world records. Like I said, I do not know anyone ever coming close to this time in this age group. I would like to hear from anyone else that has a similar story. I can be reached at fipwholesale@gmail.com
The fastest time by a twelve year old is probably set by some dude in Kenya or something. But when i was 12, i ran a 5:32 mile. I scored 99 percentile on the mile in the United States. So maybe that means i was the fastest in the U.S., but i am not sure.
that means you are faster then 99 percent of 12 year olds in the united states, the fastest mile for a 12 year old is 4:16, you conceited little brat
Both of u are wrong. 4:16 too fast for a 12 year old, and on top, ur not that fast.
- Im a 13 year old who set a mile record of 5:01when i was 12 years old. It is physically imposable for a 12 year old to come that close to a 4 minute mile.
-Im also twelve and i ran a 5:37 on a hot humid day, dude 5:32 is know where near. go on YouTube and type in amazing 11 year old athlete, he runs a 4:50!
Alex Cohen ran a mile in 6 minutes 8 seconds on October 6th 2008 at Culbertson Elementary School in Newtown Square, PA.
Angus Dahl ran a mile in 5 mins 47 secs on May 3rd 2009 at the Reigate and Redhill YMCA Fun Run.
In late 2009 a bunch of 9yos in Sydney ran around 5.10 for 1500 - which equates to a 5.32 for a mile. They don't run a mile in Australia.
