There is no official world record for the 400m butterfly but There is a postal swim sanctioned by United States Masters that is tracking times swum by USMS or FINA members at www.swimflyfast.com USMS or FINA members can swim the distance in a swim meet or on their own with a witness and submit times. This postal event runs from October 15 2013 to August 31 2014. A new postal event will start again next Sept 1. Backstroke and Breaststroke events are tracked as well, including a 3 x 500 IM (non-crawl)
