There are two diving boards used at the Olympics. One is the 3 Metre springboard; the other the 10 Metre platform.

1984 Games in Los Angeles. China's first Olympic medal in diving was a silver by Tan Liangde in men's platform at the 1984 Games. This was followed two days later by a gold in women's platform by Zhou Jihong.
