The Olympic and world record for the 100m women's backstroke in the Long Course (50m - used exclusively in the Olympics versus the Short Course) is held by Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe. She captured it on August 11th, 2008 during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing with a time of 58.77 seconds.
