2 Boots, 2 Skis, 2 poles (Optional)=When you first start learning to ski, you are shown how to do a Snowplough. - This is where you lean your feet towards each other so the skis are in a triangle shape==/ \ - like this!==As you advance, you should get the hang of parallel skiing which is what is done when you see the professionals do it!==Hope This Helps! I've been skiing twice and it's been really fun! - Really aches your legs at first though.=

You will need: skis, ski boots, ski bindings, poles (if your good enough, ask an instructor if you don't know), a waterproof jacket, waterproofsnow pants, waterproof gloves, ski goggles, a good base layer and a warm mid layer. I would also highly recommend: a specially designed ski helmet, skiing specific socks (I know that sounds dumb but would you want wet feet in possibly -20 degrees C? Didn't think so.), a toque (aka a beanie), and a neck warmer. Other random but important notes: if your hands get cold easily get mitts with a separate lining, you can replace the toque (aka beanie) and the neck warmer with a balaclava your jacket/snow pants should be breathable but still very waterproof, wearing two pairs of ski socks will make your feet colder because if your boots fit properly it can cut off some of the circulation, helmets are important... I've fallen so hard on my head that if I wasn't wearing a helmet I would have knocked myself out... don't think this won't happen to me... that's what I thought... even if you are good so you don't fall or if your a beginner so you don't fall hard it can still happen. Random but somewhat important or interesting facts: If you are wearing a helmet you are NOTinvincible, if a jacket is 10 000 mm (millimeters) waterproof that means 10 000 mm (millimeters) of water can sit on the fabric before it will start to leak, 10 000 mm is 10 m (meters), 10m (meters) is 32.808 feet, 32.808 feet is a lot of water. putting pole straps on improperly can lead to breaking a finger if you fall, the most common finger to break by doing what I just said isn't a finger it's your thumb, the most common injury is an injury to the knee, serious head injury accounts for less than 10% of all injuries in skiing but is the most common cause of death, by saying that I did say that you can die skiing, by saying that I didn't mean it was common, the first fact can decrease the chance of what I was talking about dramatically I'm cross referencing so much so that you have to read the whole thing to get it.
