Rotorua have two skydiving centres, one on the north island and the other on the south. They have been operating since 1990, have managed nearly 200,000 tandem jumps and to the best of my knowledge haven't had a single fatality. I've done many jumps with Kiwis over the years and they are extremely safety conscious.
