I read Michael Phelps No Limits, so I would have to say from 15-17 years old until he started to break records.
Michael Phelps first qualified for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Australia at the age of 15. This was his first appearance in the Olympics and although he did not win the 200m butterfly, he did make the finals and finished in fifth place.
