i have lived in Europe Germany to be exact and yes they do play organized sports mostly basketball and soccer though hoped this helped.
There are many great sports available for children to play and stay active. Soccer is a great option for both boys and girls. They can also play hockey or baseball.
Children typically begin to learn how to take on multiple roles through team sports and organized play around the age of 6-7 years old. This is when they start to understand their position within a team and how to work together with others to achieve a common goal. Through continued involvement in sports and play, children further develop these skills as they grow older.

The children in India are too poor and weak from malnutrition too play sports! They want you to donate food and money! Please!
There is always risk in sports however it is very rare that an athlete of any age (especially children) get seriously injured or die. My suggestion for anyone who is wondering whether or not they should let their children play organized sports is without question to allow them. The health and confidence benifits far outweigh the health risk. It is much more dangerous for a child to be obese than for them to play sports.
Children who play sports such as basketball and other sports get a lot of benefit out of the time they play sports. They get exercise, learn a new sport, learn strategic planning, and learn the importance of teamwork.
Greeks did not play sports.
