According to what I read, she was replaced at the games and did not actually compete. I couldn't find any information about Tydia Pickett other than she and Louise Stokes made the 1932 US Olympic Team. The first African American woman to win a medal at the Olympics was Audrey Patterson who won bronze in the 200 meter dash at the 1948 Games in London. Alice Coachman was the first African American woman to win gold when she won the high jump event at the 1948 Games.
