The Anderson Detroit Red Wings watch does indeed have the official team logo, and is officially licensed from the Red Wings.
In 1932 James Norris purchased the Detroit Falcons (earlier named the Cougars after the folded WHL team whose players stocked the roster of the original Detroit team in 1927). Norris changed the team's logo to resemble that of the club he had played for (and won the Stanley Cup with) around the turn of the century, Montreal HC "Winged Wheelers". At the same time he renamed the team after his newly created logo, which closely resembles the current Red Wings logo.
From Bob Duff in his Detroit Red Wings article in Total Hockey: The Official Encyclopedia of the National Hockey League: "Norris had been a member of the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association, a sporting club with cycling roots. The MAAA's teams were known by their club emblem and these Winged Wheelers were the first winners of the Stanley Cup in 1893. Norris decided that a version of their logo was perfect for a team playing in the Motor City and on October 5, 1932 the club was renamed the Red Wings." Coincidence or not, the new name and logo marked a turnaround in the team's fortunes. The Detroit Red Wings made the playoffs in their first season, and won their first Stanley Cup in 1936.

In 1933 , the Detroit Falcons were bought by James Norris. Norris had been a member of the Montreal AAA club way back in the early years of the 20th century. They were also known as the Winged Wheelers and sported a winged wheel on their sweaters. Norris adopted the winged wheel emblem, the red colours and changed the name of the team to the Red Wings.
