Monte Carlo has the smallest capacity of all the circuits at just 37,000 (22,000 grandstands and 15,000 general admission) although unlike other circuits it has a significant non-ticketed attendance. Over the four days of the event it can be estimated quite precisely that there are around 200,000 spectators who follow the grand prix from the grandstands, the balconies of the buildings around the circuit and also from the boats in the harbour

Only two drivers have crashed into the water at the Monaco Grand Prix: Alberto Ascari (1955, lap 80) and Paul Hawkins (1965, lap 79).

Note: The 1955 edition of the Grand Prix was Ascari's last, he was killed in an accident just four days later test driving a Ferrari 750 Sports Car.

It depends on the amount of teams entered for a season. In 2012, it was 24.
