Why do cheerleaders wear uniforms?

It is usually to match the uniforms of the mascot and school colours. Most will tell you that it is to represent the school and football (Basketball) teams. It can also be for fashion and prep.

Cheerleaders exist because of two main reasons. One, most men are primitive and are often very chauvinistic and they desire to see women in scandously clad attire. Two, because the women in which partake in Cheerleading have low self esteem and believe that cheerleading will help them appear more attractive and sexy.

First of all if u wear long skirts it looks bad second when u jump ur skirt would get in the way and for flyers (top girls) it wouldn't let them pull their heel stretches, scorpions etc. that is why the wear short skirts

----- This is cheerleaderkn and i am a cheerleader and so i know that we cheer because if the team is down because they are losing we are there to pump them up and get the crowd cheering for them who else is going to help the team keep trying but us and cheerleading is also a sport and we compete and we do it because we love it that is just like asking why are there basketball players or football or soccer players. so i hope that answered your question. :) - Cheerleaderkn

As a cheerleader, I find that wearing sports Bras instead of regular bras helps support my girls and helps me stay more comfortable around my male coach because I don't have to hold my girls when jumping and dancing.

Cheerleading is about unity. Once you step out in front of that crowd you are no longer an individual but a team. Uniforms (for cheerleading go top to bottom) show a sense of professionalism.
