Why are guys obsessed with basketball?

Beacause it's human nature. in prehistoric times, people's instincts told them to be violent in order to be able to hunt, drive off enemies, and force their way to the top of the food chain and/or the social ladder. now that instinct is still around, hence the wars throughout history. it's part of everyone. people who aren't terrorists or soldiers have learned to channel that competitive instinct into a harmless avenue: sports. oh, and because sports are awesome.
