5 and 4 are the two second rows or lock as some people call them. Their main job its line outs, when they are lifted buy other forwards to compete for the ball which is thrown in by the hooker number 2. They are in the second row of the scrum behind the props and hooker. this is a diagram of the scrum 1 2 3

These are the second rows - because of their position in the scrum - They are also referred to as Lock Forwards. They are often the tallest in the side; it is also their job win lineout ball.

Number 5 is a lock/second row. Currently Sam Whitelock seems to be the most likely to wear the no.5 jersey for the All Blacks however other players include Brodie Retallick, and Ali Williams.
