The average height for a cornerback in the NFL is about 5"11 190lbs and VERY fast. However in modern football the best corner backs tend to be in the 6"1 205lb range (Champ Bailey, Nnamdi Asomugha, Chris McAlister to name a few). The reason for this is because height is becoming a "must have" factor for a lot of coaches and GM's for their WR's so CB's are having to get taller and more physical to keep up. I predict in the coming years the norm for CB's will be in the 6"1 range with the 5"10 and 5"11 guys will be the exception. Of course, ability is the ultimate factor!
