It's open to debate as there are many good goalkeepers. Joe Hart could be seen as the obvious choice, but there are some good new goalkeepers such as David de Gea, Michel Vorm and Tim Krul. Although old, Mark Schwarzer and Brad Friedel are fantastic- Friedel holds the record for most consecutive Premier League appearances- and Shay Given is widely considered to be a great 'Keeper. Ben Foster is good too, and Wayne Hennessey, although young, is quickly amassing experience as the Welsh goalkeeper.

What happens if a U12 goalkeeper controls the ball then drops it and an opponent kicks a goal?

In youth soccer, if a U12 goalkeeper controls the ball and then drops it, the play continues as long as the ball is still in play. If an opponent kicks the ball into the goal after the goalkeeper drops it, the goal is valid. The goalkeeper's prior control of the ball does not negate the opponent's right to play the ball once it is dropped. However, the specific rules can vary by league, so it's always best to consult the league's regulations for any nuances.
