In the whole history of MLB, only 8 players have hit "5" extra-base hits in one game!

Just getting 5 hits in a game is incredible to achieve, but, when all 'singles' are removed, the feat becomes unbelievably historic!

The ones that I know are: Joe Adcock, Lou Boudreau, Wilver Stargell, Steve Garvey, Shawn Green, and the last was Kelly Koppach in 2008. The other two are players from before 1900 and I do not know their names. Sorry, I don't know them, but, maybe you can contact the MLB Archives and discover the names of those two players.

Why with inter-league play couldn't the extra team in the NL Central go the AL West which is a team short?

One opinion believes that the extra team in the National Central was able to go to the American League West however the reason behind the newly-added team to the N.L. Central, the Milwaukee Brewers not going to the A.L. West is because the Houston Astros was in the middle of a sale in which Jim Crane was buying the team from Drayton McLane so Major League Baseball used the sale as a bargaining chip and in exchange for Crane agreeing to the Astros' move to the A.L. West, Major League Baseball would reduce the amount of money that he paid McLane for the team however Major League Baseball had to pay the amount to McLane that Crane wasn't paying due to the agreement.

No, iconic baseball player, Leroy "Satchel" Paige was not known as "Sweet Knuckles". His nickname was "Satchel" which came from him being compared to a "Satchel Tree" when he earned extra money by carrying the luggage of businessmen to the train station. He is still on record as the oldest rookie in the history of Major League Baseball. He entered the major leagues via the Negro Leagues at the age of forty two. He was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in 1971 and passed away in 1982.

Why dont they let balls get dirt on them in the MLB?

One opinion in regards to the reasons behind Major League Baseball Umpires usually throwing baseballs out of play once it has touched the dirt on the ground is because they do not want any marks on the baseball that could cause the baseball to create extra movement which dirt on a baseball could potentially do.
