The San Francisco Giants have won the most games of any MLB franchise with an overall record of 10,184 wins 8,724 losses.

note the record for most wins by a team playing in the same city is held by the Chicago Cubs (10,091-9,531 as of April 27th 2009)

Through the 2010 season ...

1) Yankees with 40 - record is 27-13.

2) Giants and Dodgers with 18 - both teams have a record of 6-12.

4) Cardinals with 17 - record is 10-7.

5) Athletics with 14 - record is 9-5.

In 1935, the Chicago Cubs set the Major League Baseball record for consecutive wins with 21 wins in a row. The streak started on September 4, 1935 with an 8-2 victory over the Phillies and was snapped on September 28, 1935 with a 7-5 defeat to the Cardinals.
