A Baseball for sure. Baseballs have a denser mass than softballs, and because they are smaller they have less air resistance. This is the reason that in baseball the fences and bases are farther than in softball (regulation baselines in baseball is 90', softball is 60' ).

What is the main difference between baseball and softball?

the thing about softball is that the ball thrown by the pitcher is different than baseball in baseball they trow it normal and in softball the pitcher trows it as a circular form, and baseball is played most by man and softball women.

Does a baseball or a softball goes further if you hit it from the same distance?

no, thethe gravity of a baseball is bigger than a softball's. so baseball has more friction than softball. hence, if you hit both of them from the same speed ,baseball will go further than softball.

Why can you hit a baseball further than a softball?

Depends on who hits it.

If a softball was thrown 40feet and 8 inches how many inches was the softball thrown?

488 inches

Can you throw a baseball or a softball faster?

A baseball can be thrown faster primarily due to size difference causing less resistance.

Does a baseball of softball have more kinetic energy when thrown at 35mph?

KE = 1/2mv2, where m is mass in kg, and vis velocity in m/s. Since both the baseball and the softball are thrown at the same velocity, the difference in KE comes down to mass. A baseball has a mass of 0.142kg - 0.149kg, and a softball has a mass of 0.177kg - 0.198kg. Therefore, since the softball has the greater mass, the softball would have more kinetic energy. The 2 after the v is supposed to be a superscript and is supposed to mean velocity squared.

Why does a baseball have more speed then a softball?

Because it's harder and smaller and will therefore have less wind resistance when thrown.

Which is harder to hit baseball pitches or softball pitches?

WELL IF YOU WATCH SPORT SCIENCE THAN IT TELLS YOU THAT SOFTBALL IS HARDER THAN BASEBALL. JENNIE FINCH BROKE BULLET PROOF GLASS BUT THE BASEBALL JUST BOUNCED OFF THE GLASS. The softball is not harder than a baseball it may be bigger but the softball is not that hard! i play softball and i know that a softball is not harder than a baseball because i got hit with a softball and it didn't hurt as much as the baseball.....and the people who were pitching pitched the exact same speed! so there u have it a baseball IS HARDER than a softball!!!! Yes it is a fact that baseballs are harder than softballs because they are wound tighter. It may be a smaller ball but it is solid. softballs are rubber with string wrapped around it so they fly almost 200 ft less than a baseball will.

How a baseball and softball different?

Softball and baseball are different for several reasons. First off the ball size of a softball and baseball are different. A softball is bigger than a baseball. Also a softball is yellow and a baseball is white. Also the dimensions of the field are different. In softball the bases are 60 ft apart and the baseball bases are 90 ft apart. The fences vary and the pitchers mounds for different leagues in both, but in baseball both the pitching mound and the fences tend to be a further than in softball. The pitching motions of the two are also different. In baseball one pitches overhand and in softball they pitch underhand. The games have the same basics concept, but differ a great deal.

What is pitching in softball?

Much like baseball pitching, softball pitching is used to throw a ball towards the batter. In baseball they throw overhand but in softball when your pitching you wind up, load, and throw underhand. There are more pitches possible in the softball pitching than baseball. All pitched possible to be thrown by a softball pitcher are screw ball, change-up, fastball, curve ball, rise ball, drop ball, and knuckle ball.

Is a softball pitched at 68 mph the same as a baseball pitched at 98?

No...If the softball was pitched from a distance of 43 feet it is equivalent to a ball thrown just over 95 mph from a distance of 60' 6" which is the pitching distance in major league baseball. If the 68 mph pitch was thrown from 40 feet then it is equal to a 102 plus mph pitch at 60 feet 6 inches. Because speed is the relevance of time and distance then a ball thrown from 2 different distances and takes the same amount of time to travel each distance means the further of which will have to travel faster to cover more distance.
