Completely wrong answer below. Ash and maple are only two wood species used for wood bats at mlb level. Birch has very small following. Bamboo is not allowed to be used in pro ball because MLB rules specifically require wood bats to be one solid piece of wood...bamboo is hollow.

Bamboo because bamboo is stronger.That is also what the people in the World Series use.
