What is the hardest wood baseball bat?

I have had many wood bats but out of all of them either the maple or bamboo was the hardest. As long as you hit the ball on the barrel of the bat you should be just fine with any kind

It is probably the birch or ash. Birch has more pop, but ash is lighter. For youth I prefer ash. For adults its their choice if they want lighter or more pop. I use ash.
