When you do your wind up, some times you will tend to Lean. When you do, it causes you to release the ball at a different spot, even if you still release from your hip. Because when you lean it also causes your release point (your hip) to move. This is why coaches say the term " Stay Tall" when your pitching.
The rise ball is a very useful pitch in softball. A good rise ball begins looking like a strike so the batter will swing at it. However, by the time the ball reaches the batter, is it higher than it was when it first started out. The causes the batter to swing in miss since upward adjustments with a softball swing are very hard to make.
Fast ball, curve ball, drop ball, screw ball, rise ball, change up, curve drop, off speed curve.
In softball it's the rise and the drop.
In softball, the ball is bigger. Baseball pitchers pitch the ball overhand while softball pitchers pitch underhand. Baseball is more of a boys sport and softball is generally more for girls.

The ball should never hit in the batter's box in any softball game. The coach may want to remove that pitcher if he or she continues to pitch like that.
Much like baseball pitching, softball pitching is used to throw a ball towards the batter. In baseball they throw overhand but in softball when your pitching you wind up, load, and throw underhand. There are more pitches possible in the softball pitching than baseball. All pitched possible to be thrown by a softball pitcher are screw ball, change-up, fastball, curve ball, rise ball, drop ball, and knuckle ball.
