As it is well known, the Florida State Seminoles were the creators of the famous Tomahawk Chop. When Deion Sanders became a 2-Sport Athlete (Atlanta Falcons & Atlanta Braves) is when this started for the Braves in the early 1990's. Deion played back at FSU in his college days. During Spring Training playing down in Florida, many old fans would watch him play and begin doing the chop. Because the Atlanta Braves mascot is a type of Indian, it began to become very popular and is today the very image of the Atlanta Braves.

The tradition followed Atlanta Braves Baseball player, and former Seminoles football and baseball player, Deion Sanders to Atlanta where it was adopted and renamed the "Tomahawk Chop."
