At most schools, cheerleading is not a club it is a sport, and just like football or baseball, it holds try-outs. Sometimes there are clubs like pep clubs, sports backers, or rowdies, but the actual uniformed cheerleaders are not a club. In most places whether or not cheerleading is a club or a sport, the number of cheerleaders performing at events is restricted. The school has a limited amount of money to rent vehicles to carry cheerleaders to away games. Athletic organizations have rules determining how many cheerleaders may perform at a game. When the size of a performing group must be restricted, it uses tryouts.
Cheerleading tryouts are similar to any tryouts for anything else. I mean really you go to a meeting prior to tryouts where the coaches usually explain everything that you need to know for tryouts. Like, what you have to wear, what to bring, when and where it is, and all that info. Tryouts itself is really where you learn a number of cheers (usually 2-4) and then a dance. You also learn proper techniques for arm motions, tumbling, and of course, jumps. Spiriting is also something they will review with you. It lasts for a few days. When it comes to the actually Tryout day, you group with a few girls and perform in front of the coaches (or judges) and get scored. Then its a waiting game to find out if you made the team. Hope that helps :] ______________________________ well, i love that time of the year. when cheer tryouts come around the corner=) ... i always get so nervous and I'm like, "I'm not going to make it!" but i do everytime and prove myself wrong. just love that feeling. -kamraellen.
Usually online, or at competitions, or sports stores like Sport Chalet.
well, if you're asking if you can make the cheersquad i can answer your question. cheerleading isn't an easy sport like everybody says in the movies. don't do it to become popular, do it to become apart of a hard-working team. before tryouts, you should probably imform yourself about the basic cheerleading motions, if you don't already know about them. Google a website about cheerleading motions, stunts, jumps. Next, you need to make sure you are healthy, not skinny, healthy and muscular. before tryouts, set an amount of push ups, sit ups, dancing, and stretching for yourself and do them daily. prepare and invite friends. do google searches, and practice dances. good luck!!!
talk with your principal about having one for your school sports teams, ask him/her to gather some girls how would like to cheer and ask to have auditions.ask your your principal if you can hang flyers around the school and make petitions to tryouts. hope this helps.
