Sometimes there are clubs like pep clubs, sports backers, or rowdies, but the actual uniformed cheerleaders are not a club. In most places whether or not cheerleading is a club or a sport, the number of cheerleaders performing at events is restricted. The school has a limited amount of money to rent vehicles to carry cheerleaders to away games. Athletic organizations have rules determining how many cheerleaders may perform at a game. When the size of a performing group must be restricted, it uses tryouts.
