Michael Jordan has gone back twice in his career. First, he retired in 1993 after hearing about his father's death in South Carolina, then came out of retirement in 1998 and played for the Chicago Bulls until 2000. He then retired again, and came out of retirement again in 2001 and joined the Washington Wizards, who were formed the year he came out of retirement for the first time. He played for the Washington Wizards for 2 years (2001-2003), then retired from basketball for good (at least I think...!)

He then came back in 1995 but couldn't lead his team to the NBA Finals. Then in 1996 he was detirmaned to bring back the NBA title to Chicago and won the Finals three more times in 1996, 1997, and 1998. After the '98 season, he announced his second retirement. But he came back again in 2002 to play for an exspansion team he made to donate his salary to charity. He retired for the third and final time in 2003 and still advertises for many companies.
