Gerald Luzader played football at Michigan State University from 1955 to 1957. During his time there, he was a member of the Spartans football team and contributed to the program's success in the late 1950s.
Note: This question was asked 9/11/2007 after Appalachian State defeated Michigan in the first game of the 2007 season. Appalachian State was the Division 1-AA national champion in the 2005 and 2006 season. Most of their team is back for the 2007 season. They are a very, very good football team. Michigan lost many seniors from last year's team. Not only did they lose to Appalachian State at home but the next week they were blown out at home by the University of Oregon, 39-7. I would say that, yes, Appalachian State is really that good and, conversely, Michigan has some serious problems that need to be corrected for them to salvage a winning season.
