In the United States, the Constitution and its amendments establish the framework for governance and protect individual rights, promoting a balance of power among the branches of government. The rule of law ensures that laws apply equally to all citizens, fostering accountability and trust in the legal system. Additionally, a robust system of checks and balances prevents any one branch from becoming too powerful, while civil rights protections uphold social equity. Together, these principles help maintain peace and order within the nation.
