Some tips during a defensive play are...
-Always pay attention to where the ball goes.
-If a ground ball is hit, make sure your glove is on the ground in front of the ball. Once you know the ball is in the glove, use your other hand to trap it in there so the ball doesn't bounce off of an open glove.
-DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE BALL!! My coach always told me this. Don't be afraid of the ball...because if you are...you WILL get hurt!!!!
-Just have fun...I know you might really want to win but sometimes when you lose, you have to just shake it off and just think about how much fun it was hanging out with your friends...remember...it's just a game!!!
usually catchers wear a chest pad, leg pads, and a helmet, and they also have a catchers glove
It has to go above the batter's head.
This happens at the biginning of a game, and the pitcher must slowly pitch towrds the catcher, giving the visiting team an extra run/point if it is right.

You must try out for the team you would like to play for.
To be a pro softball player you must have good grades ! I advice you to study your notes .
There are several skills you must know when you play. You must know how to catch, throw, bat and base run properly. You play defense or stay on the field and try to get the batter out and you will play offense and try to get some runs and hit balls.
Not necessarily, most softball recruiting is done through travel/summer teams. Also, many softball programs are not that good and could be considered a waste of time.
