The catcher must know which bases are loaded, and where the next play will be.

They have important role, because they're the only person in the infield that can see all of the bases. They must know where the lead runner is so they can make sure she doesnt get home.

Some tips during a defensive play are...

-Always pay attention to where the ball goes.

-If a ground ball is hit, make sure your glove is on the ground in front of the ball. Once you know the ball is in the glove, use your other hand to trap it in there so the ball doesn't bounce off of an open glove.

-DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE BALL!! My coach always told me this. Don't be afraid of the ball...because if you are...you WILL get hurt!!!!

-Just have fun...I know you might really want to win but sometimes when you lose, you have to just shake it off and just think about how much fun it was hanging out with your friends...remember...it's just a game!!!
