∙ 16y agoThis statistic is (to some) thought to be unofficial and not incredibly accurate. This is also used mostly in drafting for the NFL, so the record doesnt mean they are the fastest man alive. The answer is Darrell Green of Houston, Texas. He is thought to be one of the greatest cornerbacks of all time. In the Redskins training camp, Green ran (unofficially) the 40 yard dash in 4.09 seconds. He won 4 "NFLs fastest man competition"s.

∙ 15y agoMichael Vick and Deon Sanders both ran it at 4.18 seconds. ------------------------- Neither is true. Deion was 4.27 & Vick was 4.41. Chris Johnson ran a 4.24.

However Darrell Green had an unoffical time of 4.09 that is on record so I don't know why it is unofficial.

∙ 13y agoWR Rondel Melendez in 1999 and RB Chris Johnson both ran a 4.24 which are the fastest recordings since 1999 when electronic timing was implemented.
