in baseball the pitcher is standing 66feet 6 inch from the plate in fastpitch the pitcher is standing 43 feet from the plate ,there is less reaction time for the fastpitch batter
9 on the field in fastpitch and 10 in slowpitch
A baseball Player must have asked this one... Reaction time is no different than in baseball. It all depends on if your batting fielding or whatever

No, but the pitcher still can pitch the ball and it is either a called ball or a called strike depending on where it is located on the plate
-Friendship -Technique -Teamwork skills -Strategy Skills -Hand eye co-ordination -Overall Health -Reaction Time Softball can benefit in all these areas .
110 mph? No, probably not. Most of the top men's pitchers throw in the 80's. There have been some studies done, though, showing that a 85 mph fastpitch is like a 100 mph baseball pitch in terms of reaction time the hitter has. Remember in baseball, the pitcher is 60' 6" from home plate. In fastpitch, the pitching rubber is only 46 feet away, and many of the good pitchers leap towards home, so they are even closer by the time they release the ball. If 85mph doesn't sound fast to you, also consider they are throwing a 12" ball instead a 9" baseball. Some fastpitch hitters will tell you that it's harder to hit an 85mph fastpitch than a 100 baseball, because you have so little time to react. see http://www.iscfastpitch.com for information on their annual "World Tournament". It is the "World Series" of men's fastpitch.
There should be but sadly there is none :(

i play it. its fun. keeps the awesome time going. SOFTBALL teaches lessons for life...and the game. i love every minute i am on the field. on a team theres 9 positions to be filled but normally a coach has 14 players...back ups you kno in case of an injury. sub players..and one to be the DH
Not necessarily, most softball recruiting is done through travel/summer teams. Also, many softball programs are not that good and could be considered a waste of time.
10 seconds from the time the pitcher has the ball in the circle. This rule is seldom ever enforced. The only way you will ever get this call is for the pitcher to get on the rubber and ready to pitch which will show a delay by the batter.
