Field Hockey
field hockey is played in halves of 35 minutes
60MINUTES its in three phases 2o minutes each
only 1 thats half time
There is no onside or offside in field hockey, at least as used in other sports. It is sometimes used to describe a player is in the wrong half of the field when a centrepass is taken, but that is about the only time.
The fulllback does defend, but there are also the half backs and the goalie
Hockey, Gaelic Football and Hurling all are played with 35 minutes in each half.
There are a number of different combinations of positions typically, it depends on the strengths of the team. Normally: Defence: Right Back, Left Back & Goalie Mid-field: Right Half, Left Half, Centre Half Forwards: Left Inner, Right Inner Strikers: Left Wing, Right Wing & Centre Forward
I will tell you the ones i know of. Mini hockey is only played in a half of a hockey field, or even smaller, and there are 8 that play. Field hockey is played full field (the whole hockey field) and you have 11 players that play (including the goalkeeper). They are both similar in that they both play with hockey sticks and they are still a type of hockey. The same rules apply in both.
