Great Punt Returns -
It starts at 1:25 in the video. What's funny is that in order to have this distinction, Eddie did something stupid (i.e., field the punt on the goal line). The gross total return is around 105 yards based on the yards he was pushed backwards after catching it. Amazing!
Season: Sammy Baugh of the Washington Redskins with 51.4 yards per punt in 1940.
Career: Through the 2008 season, Shane Lechler of the Oakland Raiders with 46.9 yards per punt.

You should be able to punt at least 45 yards if you are in the NFL. Some punters can punt much further than this.
Pittsburgh's Kapinos' punt of 56 yards in the 1st Quarter was the longest punt in Super Bowl XLV. He also had the second longest of 54 yards.
You cannot catch a punt while out of bounds in the NFL.
