An air ball is, in the game of basketball, a thrown ball which misses the target and fails to touch the net or hoop, or, by extension, any ball which widely misses its target when thrown.

According to Rule 5 of the NBA rules, a field goal is scored if the ball goes through the net or remains in the net. Therefore, a ball that hits the net and comes out is not a field goal even though it went through the hoop.
10 feet from floor to rim is the standard for high school, college and pro ball. The hoop is often lower for younger kids. Usually 8 feet is the lowest for organized play. Again from floor to hoop. The net hangs below the hoop and there is no "official" height for it from my understanding. For all players, 10 ft. is what the basketball net should be at.
you can score a goal in netball when either goal attack or goal defence shoots the netball into the hoop.
