A Basketball stance is called a defensive stance.
The proper stance can be done by first bending your knees so you are close to the ground. Make sure your back is straight, but your knees are bent.
One hand is pointing towards two o'clock (pretend a clock is in front of you) and is out to the right (or left, depending on which way you are moving). This hand is meant to intercept the passing lane. The other hand is "digging" between your legs. This is for stealing a ball.

There is no such position!
In basketball, the defensive position is the stance you are in while guarding an opponent (defense) in basketball.
There is no connection between a basketball player's number and the position he or she plays.
At the Center Court position, the tallest player has the best advantage to score points, and rebound, due to their height.
The "2 position, also called the "shooting guard", is usually the team's best shooter. The "3 position", also called the "small forward, is responsible for inbounding the ball.
5
Pointguard is not a soccer position. This position exists in basketball, however.
They play the '5' position.
