Baseball is a game where a pitcher throws the ball over the home plate and between the batter's knees to their lower chest. If the ball is not of those rules, the pitch is counted as a ball. If the batter swings at a ball, it is counted as a strike. 4 balls and it is a walk to 1st base and 3 strikes is a strikeout and the player is out as a batter. 3 outs and it is a changeover. When the batter hits it and it goes out of the field, it is counted as a Home run where the batter runs back to home base at any speed. If the ball bounces and then goes over, it is called a ground out and the batter is out.

If someone is on 1st base and it is a walk, the 1st base moves to 2nd base and so on. The catcher at the back catches the strikes and balls. it is their responsibility to keep the umpire safe and the ball from going into the backstop. The bat is usually made of maple wood.
