#22 is used by Syracuse (one of the university powerhouses) as a number reserved for their greatest players. To anyone who follows university Lacrosse, #22 signifies many of the greats who have played the game, especially at Syracuse who just happened to wear it.... sort of like #99 in hockey always conjures up images of Wayne Gretzky. Over time, the number became synonimous with great players. Any ways, #22 is only given out to the best player on the team.
